Year 6 have had an amazing first week back at school! We began our learning by looking at an exciting new book called Journey, a wordless picture book by Aaron Becker. We explored the story through art, storytelling, music and drama.

On Friday we left for the residential trip to Aylmerton in Norfolk. We travelled by coach, and when we arrived enjoyed lunch on the pier at Cromer. After lunch we walked along the coast, collecting semi-precious stones and peering into the rock pools. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and desert, and then got our head torches ready for the Twilight Walk. On our walk we saw bats, climbed inside an old Oak tree and listened to a story inside the Church after sunset.

On Saturday we woke up early and enjoyed a morning of teambuilding activities, followed by an opportunity to enjoy the equipment and outdoor space. In the afternoon we completed an orienteering challenge, trying to steer clear of any monsters on our path... After a delicious dinner we were treated to an evening of storytelling from a special visitor who played an array of instruments for us.

We had another early start on Sunday, and headed out to catch a boat and spot seals in their natural habitats after breakfast. We loved seeing the seals on the land, and in the water too! We walked along Blakeney Point, spotting more semi-precious stones that had washed up and then made our way back through the mud, crossing rivers along the way. In the evening we enjoyed a Disco with our friends.

On Monday morning we enjoyed the last few activities before eating our lunch. Then it was time to get back onto the coach and begin the long journey home!
