Easter Traditions

Easter Traditions Exchange with Spanish Partner School

As part of our ongoing international partnership, pupils at Drapers’ Maylands Primary School explored and shared Easter traditions with our partner school in Spain. This cultural exchange offered pupils the opportunity to compare how Easter is celebrated in both countries—focusing on food, symbols, customs and language.

To facilitate this exchange, we used Chatta, a digital storytelling tool that allowed pupils to create and share multimedia presentations combining images and spoken language. Pupils recorded themselves talking about Easter activities and traditions in the UK and were able to listen to and respond to their Spanish peers in return. This was reciprocated with our partner's Spanish Easter traditions creating a meaningful two-way dialogue and brought the learning to life.

The use of Chatta was a real success—it allowed for accessible and engaging communication, boosted pupils’ confidence in speaking and listening skills, and strengthened digital literacy. Most importantly, it deepened pupils’ intercultural understanding by allowing them to see first-hand how a shared celebration like Easter can take many different forms across the world.
