Drapers' Maylands are pleased to announce that we have been chosen by the DfE to be a centre for Regional Improvements for Standards and Excellence (RISE).
As one of only 100 schools in London chosen to share effective practice linked to Ofsted priorities, this places the school in a leading role supporting improvement across the education system.
During the London RISE Education Fortnight, we are pleased to offer the following events:
What the Best Start Looks and Feels Like

Join us at Drapers’ Maylands Primary School for an engaging talk, meet our practicioners and leaders and discover our inspiring learning environment where children thrive.
The 2-hour session will begin with a summary of our research-based systems and why we feel the Early Years is essential to lay the foundations of success in education. Visitors will spend time in Reception and Year 1 classrooms to see and feel the effective practice in our setting. There is also an opportunity to speak with practitioners and leaders to ask any questions. A review discussion will provide opportunities for discussion and to identify key programmes to help action and enable effective practice.

What Real Inclusion Looks and Feels Like in a Primary School

Join us at Drapers’ Maylands Primary School for an engaging talk and tour of our modern, purpose-built school, and discover our inspiring learning environment where children thrive.
The 2-hour session begins with a summary of the school systems and how they are consistent in all year groups to enable the most inclusive environment for all. Barriers to learning are addressed through classroom management, arrangements for curriculum and activities as well as some more specialist enhancement. After the short summary talk, tours of the school begin with stops in classrooms to feel and see what we mean by the 'universal offer'. A review discussion will provide opportunities for questions and behind the scenes monitoring to help embed and enable effective practice.
