In spring 2025, Drapers’ Maylands Primary School proudly hosted an exciting international project: Eurovision for Schools, a celebration of music, language, and cultural diversity. As part of this initiative, schools from across Europe were recruited to participate, creating a truly collaborative event that brought together pupils from different countries through the universal language of music.

The singers with support and guidance from Miss Lawrence, wrote an original song entitled Dreams. The children rehearsed and refined their performances, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and growing cultural awareness. You can watch it here: Eurovision 2025 - Maylands

Performances from the international schools were recorded and shared via a dedicated project blog School Eurovision Song Contest, allowing all schools involve

Voting will follow the traditional Eurovision format, with all schools submitting their points, and the project will conclude in a special "LIVE" celebration assembly on 19th June, where the results will be announced and the winning song recognised.

This project not only deepened pupils’ intercultural understanding and language awareness, but also fostered international friendships, encouraged digital collaboration, and strengthened our commitment to a vibrant and inclusive global school community.
