Kindness, Peace and Harmony (Spirituality at Maylands)

At Maylands, the children have been discussing what spirituality is and why it is important. They have been discussing in more depth the meaning of 'peace, kindess and harmony'. Here is what some children said about these topics in relation to spirituality:
‘I am kind to my friends because I share things.' (EYFS)
'We have to work together...that means your helping each other.' (EYFS)
‘You have to be peaceful to be calm.' (Year 1)
‘See how you treat others, and they will treat you the same.' (Year 2)
‘Peace, kidness and harmony helps us feel calm and relaxed and like there’s nothing to worry about.’ (Year 3)
‘We have ducks and rabbits. They help us with feeling peaceful.’ (Year 4)
'Harmony can connect to kindness and spirituality.' (Year 5)
'We show kindness to the environment by picking the litter when we go to forest school.' (Year 6)
'Just because its quiet doesn’t mean there is harmony, people could still be disagreeing.' (Year 6)
