Year 1 Lunar New Year
Back to Latest News
Year 1 have had a fantastic week learning about the Lunar New Year. We began with a Chatta looking at different Lunar New Year traditions, and then made our very own vegetarian spring rolls. The children grated carrots, snipped spring onion, blanched peas and beansprouts, before folding into a filo pastry. They tasted delicious!
Ask your child about how to make a Spring roll?
We were also very lucky to attend a Lunar New Year dance workshop. The children followed the instructor to learn a dance routine and then performed with fans and parasols. The children's favourite part was definitely when they got to parade as their very own dragon!
Next week, we will begin learning about the story of The Great Race and the origins of the Chinese zodiac.
Can you find out which Zodiac year you and your child were born in?
