Year 5 Paired Reading with Year 2

Year 5 this week enjoyed leading a reading session with the Year 2s.

Year 2 and Year 5 switched classes for the afternoon and each Year 2 child read to a Year 5 child. Year 5 enjoyed taking on the teacher role and listening to the younger children read, they helped them to sound out new words and learn new vocabulary. They also asked questions about the story and helped to improve comprehension skills. 

Thank you Year 2 for being such wonderful readers! We are looking forward to our next reading session already.
