This week in Year 1 we started the week with some very scaly and cold-blooded visitors: a grey bearded dragon and a royal python. We got to ask their owner lots of questions about what they do, what they eat and where they live. We also impressed our visitor with all our knowledge about reptiles.

On Wednesday, we celebrated Science day where we learnt about the different parts of the body. We had so much fun, drawing around our friend and then labelling the different body parts. We became so good at naming the different parts, we challenged ourselves by playing ‘Professor Pod Says’.

On Thursday we learnt about and took part in a minute silence to remember all the millions of people who fought and died in the war. We also learnt about the different types of poppies and made our own wreath to show that we are remember all those who fought for us.

‘The dragon was so cool. It had lots of scales and spikes to stop animals eating it.’

‘I coloured my poppy red. It can be purple, black and I think white as well.’
