Year 1 - SeaLife Adventure
Back to Latest News
This week in Year 1 we have had a fun-filled, interactive learning week. At the beginning of this week, we visited the SeaLife Adventure in Southend. The children loved seeing all the animals they have been learning about. They particularly enjoyed when we walked through the tunnel under three hideously toothy grinning sharks. This is what the children had to say about our trip:
‘My favourite is Rainbow Fish because it has lots of colours.’
‘My favourite animal was the shark because they have big spiky teeth. They cleaned the tank I think, once a week.’
We also spent some time learning about how to get fit and to ‘Keep Moving Forward’ when international sprinter, Frederick Afrifa visited Drapers’ Maylands. Year 1 enjoyed taking part in a circuit with activities such as star jumps, push ups and squats.
We had another exciting visit this week, from our very own Year 6 classes. They spent some time with us reading in small groups, sharing and learning together. We look forward to the next time we can take part in Reading Buddies.
