This week in History, Year 3 have been learning all about the fascinating changes from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. We discovered how people’s lives changed over time, from using simple stone tools to making objects out of bronze, and from living in small groups to building larger settlements.

We explored Stonehenge, one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world, thinking about where it is, what it might have been used for, and how people may have managed to move such enormous stones thousands of years ago without any modern machines!

We wrote postcards describing the stone circle, and then we became builders ourselves! Using wooden blocks, we worked in teams to create our very own Stonehenge replicas, thinking carefully about balance and shape. Year 3 loved bringing history to life and imagining what it might have been like to visit Stonehenge all those years ago.
