This week in Year 4, we have been learning about First Aid. We have learnt how to bandage a patient, how to do CPR [cardiopulmonary resuscitation] and how long to hold a burn under cold running water.

The class enjoyed the experience of being a patient and practicing their new skills on each other. Hopefully, these are skills the children will never need, but could use to save a life!

If you would like to know some of the basics of First Aid, why not ask your child?

Please remember, in case of an emergency:

- Get help by shouting.

- Phone 999.

- Stay with the patient and keep them calm!

- Practice your First Aid skills or find someone who can.

Remember, we all help our mums, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, neighbours and friends.

And they can help you.

That is good First Aid!
