Year 2 - World Book Day

The week started by having Year 6 joining us for some pair reading. Year 2 pupils really impressed the older children with their fluent reading skills and their ability to answer questions about the stories.

World Book Day was a truly fantastic celebration at our school this year. Year 2 children took part in the day by dressing up as their favourite book characters—and the creativity on display was amazing!  It was such a joy to see how much thought and effort had gone into each outfit.

The fun didn’t stop there! Children took their favourite books outside and enjoyed reading in the fresh air, surrounded by nature and sunshine. 

As part of the celebrations, Year 2 also took part in an exciting Anansi workshop, where they explored the traditional tales of the clever spider. The children had a brilliant time learning how to act out a story using expressive voices, gestures, and imagination.

World Book Day was a fantastic day full of surprises and a love for reading!
