Year 6 - The Moon Visits Polecat Class!
Back to Latest News
Today, Year 6 looked at lunar rocks originating from the Moon. They were extremely excited to identify the different rocks brought by astronauts from the Moon and could not believe they were getting to experience and learn about them.
As well as looking at the Moon, the children learnt about different rocks from Space and Earth: meteorites and non meteorites. They looked at the 3 different types of Earth rocks: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary and then different types of meteorites. Year 6 were able to identify whether the rock was a meteorite or not and were able to use adjectives to describe the rocks.
Year 6 showed fantastic engagement during the Moon exhibition and showed high levels of curiosity through their extensive question asking.
