This week year 3 visited the forest. The purpose of our visit was to investigate an unusual discovery, which required further examination.

After a short trek through the woods, we came to a clearing. In the clearing, we could see branches had been placed around a tall tree to create a makeshift shelter. In front of the shelter was a small campfire and beside the fire, an animal's skin lay on the ground with an array of unusual looking tools and artefacts resting on it.

We discussed with each other what we thought the tools were used for and to whom they may belonged. We determined that they most likely belonged to a Stone Age person who was hunting nearby in the forest.

Before we left, we listened to the story of The Stone Age Boy. The knowledge and information we acquired from our time in the forest was later used to support our learning in the classroom.
