On Wednesday 24th January, Year 5 embarked on a visit to the Science Museum. Upon arrival, we took part in a workshop which demonstrated the outcome of a number of amazing chemical reactions.

From there, we visited the flight gallery where we had the opportunity to learn about the history of human aviation. In the gallery there were many examples of flying machines including helicopters, hot-air balloons and of course aeroplanes.

After lunch we viewed the engineering gallery which featured many examples of jobs and careers in that field. Next to this gallery was medical history and innovations. Many of the exhibits were interactive and it was fascinating to see the inside of a human body.

We enjoyed space exploration, the space rockets were incredible and we thought the achievements of the astronauts were out of this world.

The final gallery we visited featured exhibits from the modern world. The children were amused at some of the antiquated items which were used during the life time of some of the teachers present.

A great day was had and all expressed a wish to visit the museum again.
