Gardening Club - Autumn 2023

Firstly, a big well done to the gardeners from last year for achieving the RHS School Gardening Award Level 5! Congratulations to all involved. Level 5 is about gardening through the year, including the local community and keeping gardening at the heart of the school. We have new gardeners this year so the bar is already set high.......

So far we have harvested the tomatoes, cleared weeds and prepared the beds, picked the sunflowers and kept the seeds for the eco-committee and for planting next year. We have planted some lettuce, broad beans and rainbow chard, all of which have started to make an appearance. The late sun might be helping.... the pumpkins we planted before the summer holidays are also growing well, you can see them where the children park their scooters. Hopefully we will get a ginormous one again for a 'guess the weight' competition.
