This week it was year 3's turn to prepare a healthy meal from scratch. Our chosen meal was a vegetable tagine (see link for full recipe).

We all practiced our skills of chopping, grating, peeling and snipping. As well as stirring and keeping an eye on the cooked tagine.

The aromas of the spices used were scrumptious and we had many staff pop their head in wanting a taste.

All the children prepared this amazing dish, along with couscous, a herby smash and decorated with a sprinkle of pomegranate. We also took the opportunity to try some new foods, such as parsley, coriander, pomegranate and apricots.

In the classroom we made food and hygiene leaflets, as well as writing the recipe up. We also looked at where would be the best place to buy the ingredients, asda, morrisons or tesco using a budget sheet.

Ask your children what they enjoyed about that week?
