Year 2 MasterChefs

This week, Year 2 were very excited to take part in Maylands MasterChef 2023. We decided to cook some vegetable chilli and flatbread. The learners carefully read through the recipes and learnt the different ingredients that were needed. 

After a serious talk about kitchen safety and hygiene the learners set off on learning different skills.

"We learnt how to cut vegetables properly and how to hold a knife safely." Jan

"I did not know there were so many rules to follow in the kitchen, but I learnt a lot!" Amara

They eagerly measured, chopped, peeled and snipped a variety of different ingredients to prapare all the vegetables needed for the chilli. Following that they made some dough and learnt how to knead.

By the end of Thursday, four learners were selected for the semi-final. Well done to Lama and Arianna from Badger and Tamar and Bella-Mae from Fox.

We are know eagerly awaiting the results of who will make it through to the finals agaisnt the other Year groups.
