This week in year 1, we have been continuing our learning about deer as something amazing happened! A newly-born fawn curled up in the forest as was seen by children on their way to Forest School. We were so excited about the idea of a fawn being born so close to us that we went to investigate the area with Ms Williams (who found the fawn) and then wrote a report about the event.

In Maths we have been taken advantage of the heat and investigated capacity. We were given a range of items to discuss and test to see how much water fits in each item (using the word ‘estimate’ to describe what we thought) and also to see which item held the most. This was a lot of fun! We have also been trying hard to practise counting in 2s and learning about fact families.

During our forest school session, we enjoyed exploring the natural environment, swinging on the trees, investigating the animals and plants around us and even working as a team to dig a big hole to investigate what its below us in the ground.
