Back to Latest News
We have a had a very busy week in Reception!
Mr Sarkis, our Artist in Residence, was working with the children to teach them how to use real tools safely. The children showed confidence and the ability so be sensible when having this responsibility, we are very proud of them.
Dormouse Class had a visit to the beautiful Enchanted Wood Library with some of their parents. They chose books together and read them in the cosy nooks and checked the books out to share at home.
Drapers’ Academy Child Development pupils paid us a visit our Reception children. They are going to plan, create and evaluate play activities for our children to take part in as part of thier curriculum. We are so happy that they have chosen our children to work with, as they loved having the opportunity to show off their learning!
We had some real life caterpillars delivered this week that will engage the children as we head into our new 'Minibeast' Unit of Work. We will look after them and monitor all the stages as they turn into butterflies. We will then feed them until they are strong enough to release into our Early Years garden.
Finally, on Friday we took part in 'The Big Sow'. We planted our own tomato seeds to nurture until they have grown enough to transfer to our newly decorated pots! We will also be planting herbs, flowers and fruit over the coming weeks.
Hedgehog Class had a wonderful time back at Forest School, especially now that Spring has truly Sprung in the woodland.
Have a lovely weekend.
