Year 1 Yuca Fritters

Year 1 have loved immersing themselves in all things Costa Rica this term! We learned that yuca is a crop commonly grown in the country, and have loved using the vegetable to prepare and cook yuca fritters, practising skills such as peeling, grating, measuring and mixing. They were delicious!

Year 4 have been working hard to design and develop a game using their Computing skills. We were lucky to be chosen to trial the game and loved solving the mathematical problems to win!

On Thursday, we were very fortunate to be visited by the author and illustrator of Percy the Park Keeper, Nick Butterworth! He shared how he finds inspiration for his wonderful stories, the local origins of the tales, and read a story for us. We look forward to reading more of the collection in class soon.
