Year 1 - World Book Day and Eat Them to Defeat Them
Back to Latest News
The evil vegetables are back, but we haven’t been sat idly. We are going to Eat Them to Defeat Them! This week we had the challenge of cooking something with carrots. In preparation to cook ‘Carrot Brownies’ we read the recipe, made sure that we had everything we needed and measured out all the quantities. Then taking turns we went through each of the steps to prepare this delicious dessert. We tried it at the end of the day and it was scrumptious!
In World Book Day, children proudly showcased their costumes. We had characters from lots of different books, such as Paddington, Rama from Rama and Sita, The Cat in the Hat and many more. Congratulations to the ‘Best Costume’ winner who took home a wonderful book as their prize!
Through determination and persistence we have finally adopted three fish for our class. It has taken letters to Ms Spillane, research on how to look after fish and calculations on how much it would cost to look after them. We are happy to announce that Jig, Blue and Nemo are our new members of Squirrel class.
