Year 1 - Evidence of Dragons
Back to Latest News
In year 1 we started the week with a very special visitor called George. George is a domestic rabbit that loves hopping and exploring. We were so lucky to be allowed to look after him for a while.
On Tuesday, our lesson was interrupted by a news broadcast telling us that a dragon had been seen flying over Harold Hill. We decided to investigate this and went on a walk to look for evidence of dragons. We found two nests with dragon eggs in them; one had even hatched! We also found some massive footprints and burned wood that proved dragons were in the area.
On Thursday, we loved having year 4 reading with us again. We tried our best to impress them with our reading and challenged us by asking questions about what we read.
In our Science lesson we explored our senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch) by taking part in a range of different senses station. Each table was set up with different things for us to smell, touch, taste, hear or see. We had fun discovering the taste of a lemon or smelling fish flakes.
In Forest School, we had so much fun playing with the leaves that had fallen from the trees; we pretended they were water and swam in a pool, we buried ourselves in them and throw them in the air pretending it was rain. We also enjoyed playing on a see-saw and building a den to play in it.
