Year 4 - Ancient Greece Wow Day

To introduce Ancient Greece, the children took a journey back in time to experience what some of the culture and food was like when the Greek Gods and Goddesses were worshipped and philosophers wore togas! They donned their theatre masks and reenacted the tradegy of Theseus and the Minotaur, learning about Greek heroes and that not every story has a happy ending. They then stepped into the world of pottery and had a go at creating their own Greek vase, looking at patterns and shapes that were used in ancient times. Finally, they took part in their very own Olympics where they learnt about chariot racing, javelin and discus throwing.
