As this week is Science week, we have completed many Science activities. On Monday, we received a call from Dr Collier requesting our help to fix his rocket on the moon. We got our space suits on and travelled to the moon, when we arrived at the moon we tried space food, explored some objects, solved a puzzle to fix the rocket and even designed a space rover!

“My favourite part of the day was trying the space food; it was very and tasty but strange.”

“I enjoyed designing my own space rover and chose to make it out of metal and plastic materials.”

We then created some amazing pieces of writing about our trip to space!

On Tuesday, we investigated different materials and their properties. We tested their flexibility by squishing, stretching, bending and twisting the materials.

“The playdough was the most flexible material as you can change it into different shapes.” “The wood and the metal are the least flexible because it is strong and can’t change its shape”

Finally, on Thursday Year 6 came to share information they have learnt about scientist Tu Youyou and then we focused on time, so we created sand timers. We used a range of materials and used our solving problems skills to create them. Our new sand timers will help us to complete challenges!
