To celebrate British Science Week from the 8th-17th March 2024, Year 6 took part in a range of exciting Science activities. As we are currently learning about The Far East, Year 6 took this opportunity to learn more about famous Scientists from Asia. This included: Udupi Rao, Tu Youyou, Chang Meemann, Kosuke Morita, Shinya Yamanaka. As a table, they researched their Scientist and created a Chatta about them. They enjoyed learning about the Scientists' fantastic research, and were inspired by their achievements.

Year 6 were then invited to present their Chattas to other classes in the school, ranging from Year 1 to Year 5. They presented with confidence and spoke audibly, ensuring they were using age-appropriate words for the year group they were in.

Back in the classroom, Year 6 continued learning about famous inventions from The Far East, such as the Water Clock. Year 6 enjoyed learning about the ancient clock and how it was used to tell the time in Ancient China. They then worked in pairs to create their own waterclocks, checking for accuracy and consistency.

Well done Year 6 for being Super Scientists.
