Year 2 - Big Bird Watch and NSPCC Number Day
Back to Latest News
The Big Schools’ Birdwatch count has started this week. Year 2 has enjoyed spotting a variety of birds. During our Forest School session, children spotted quite a few black birds. We spotted a beautiful magpie and a woodpigeon too. A family of Egyptian geese tends to visit us during our break times and we enjoy observing how they peck at the grass from the distance.
Daphne ‘It’s hard to see them when they fly far’
Alice ‘You have to be quick at spotting them. I have already seen 3 black birds’
Maya 'This book says Black Birds eat worms’
Year 2 enjoyed taking part in the NSPCC Number Day Challenge this week. They worked in small groups to break the code and discover the missing parts to the key around the classroom. The key helped us find Buddy. He was reading an Elmer book in the library. Well done Year 2 for working as a team to discover the missing pieces to ‘Buddy’s Key’.
