Year 6 have enjoyed learning about North America, in particular the Mexican celebration 'Day of the Dead'. The children were able to learn different facts during a CHATTA, which they presented to their classmates.
Year 6 also fully engaged themselves in Geography lessons based on Mexico's geographical features, they found it fascinating to see the ancient features as well as modern human features.
Within writing lessons, Year 6 were able to link their learning to the film 'Coco' and write descriptive setting descriptions based on what it would be like to experience the festival of 'Day of the Dead'.
The 'ofrenda' helped to bring to life Mexico's 'Day of the Dead' and the children were able to speak confidently and clearly about the main elements of it.
