Squirrel Class - Spot the Bus

This week in Year 1 we were investigating transport around Harold Hill. We started by looking at a bus map of the available bus routes, looking at where they start and where they end. After learning about the different bus routes, we went on a bus hunt. We spotted the buses that went on the different routes, we worked out what their destination was, we investigated the bus stops and how to find out more information about the bus timetables. On our walk we also discussed and practsied how to keep ourselves safe beside a road. We know that before we cross a road, we must pick a sensible area to cross at such as a zebra crossing and we must look both ways before we take one step off the path. 

This week, Year 1 have also enjoyed taking part in the Eat Them To Defeat Them vegetable challenge. Peppers was the focus vegetable for this week. On Tuesday, we loved our pepper pizzas and used our science knowledge about plants to start growing some pepper plants.
