This week, Year 6 have enjoyed taking part in Maylands MasterChef. All children have worked together to create a delicious meal including a starter of lettuce wraps, and a main course of Asian noodle soup.

Firstly, children went to the local supermarket to buy the ingredients they needed for their dish. In the shop, all children showed fantastic Behaviours for Learning and they impressed many members of the public with their respect and positive attitudes.

The following day, the children revised kitchen safety and hygiene protocols including safe ways to use a knife and grater while cooking, and how to properly wash your hands. Then it was time for the cooking to commence! The children used a variety of skills to prepare the vegetables including dicing, slicing and grating, and worked with a partner to ensure that all safety and hygiene protocols were in place. The children were so proud of their final product and enjoyed trying their creation.

We have attached to recipe below so you can try the recipe at home!

Well done to Lucy and David for making it to the Semi-Finals, we look forward to finding out who our Year 6 finalist will be on Monday!
