Year 1 Everyday Materials

Year 1 have been learning about different everyday materials and their physical properties. This week, they put their knowledge to the test to compare and group materials based on their physical properties, using hula-hoop Venn diagrams.

In Art, Year 1 have been exploring with a variety of media and tools, swapping paint brushes for pine cones, sponges, toothbrushes, cotton buds and more! The children had lots of fun using their colour mixing experience to create secondary colours, and use these different tools to experiment with a variety of painting techniques.
