Year 1 World Book Day

What a brilliant week we have had celebrating World Book Day and sharing our love for reading across the school. We were very impressed by all of the effort and imagination that went into creating such wonderful costumes!

The day started with a fantastic assembly from our special visitor. The children had so much fun joining in with the immersive storytelling experience. Thank you to all the children who took part in the Catch Me Reading competition and sent in their photos from home - we loved the creativity! In school, the children were eager to take their books outside and find a cosy space to enjoy their stories. We were also very lucky to have Year 4 visit our classrooms and garden area, reading their stories to us and listening to Year 1 children read to them.

In class, we have been enjoying a collection of Laugh Out Loud stories, listening to books such as Agent Llama, Ten Delicious Teachers and The King's Birthday Suit. Ask your child to tell you all about their favourite part of these funny stories!
