Year 5- Volcano Sculptors
Back to Latest NewsThroughout the past few weeks, Year 5 have enjoyed learning about famous sculptures around the world during their Art learning. They experimented with a range of recyled materials to create their own abstract scultpures, then experimented with clay to compare the differences in scultping.
Next, Year 5 enjoyed planning and creating their own volcano sculptures, as they have been learning about natural disasters as part of their Geography learning.
Children used a range of different carving tools to sculpt their volcanoes, and added extra details such as lava and rock formations.
Kingfisher Class have enjoyed painting their sculptures, and Heron Class are looking forward to painting them next week. Year 5 are excited to take their sculptures home for the Christmas break.
