Year 3 - Diwali Celebrations

This week in year 3 we have been learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali. We have talked about how Hindus prepare for this celebration and all the things they do to celebrate as a family or community. 

In reading we have been looking at the story of Rama and Sita - please ask your child to retell this story to you. 

This afternoon, we made vegetable samosas. The children chopped the potatoes and folded the samosa's using filo pastry, so we had to be very gentle as we folded it. I'm sure the children will be able to tell you the recipe as we only used four ingredients.
