Year 5 - Thriftwood Residential
Back to Latest NewsYear 5 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Thriftwood this week. They took part in a range of activites during their stay, including kayaking, rock climbing, assault courses and tobogganing. Each child showed great determination during all activites, proving to have fantastic resilience and teamwork skills.
After a day full of activites, the children were ready for dinner. They ate their dinner, helping to serve each other and were given the opportunity to discuss the memorable day that they had just had. The children finished the evening with a night of games, a campfire and s'mores. After a day full of fun, the children were ready to settle into their bunks for the evening.
The following day, after a restful sleep, the children awoke early to a breakfast and more activites. They finished off the day with lunch where they had time to reflect on their time at Thriftwood.
Some of our children said:
'That was the best day ever!'
'I loved the kayaking, espically when we jumped in the water.'
'I faced my fear of heights and being in small spaces.'
'I can't wait for the Year 6 residential now.'
