We have had a lovely week in Reception with the start of our new topic 'Dinosaurs'.

The children have learned about fossils through pretending to be archeologies in the tactile tray, creating fossil art using different media, exploring the garden to find their own fossils and through all the wonderful books we have. We also have some very interesting real fossils for the children to look at as well as a dinosaur skull!

We celebrated 'Mother Tongue Day' by learning to say 'hello' in different languages. It was wonderful to see the children in our classes happy to stand in front of their friends and teach them some words in their home language. Aren't they amazing!

Dormouse Class had their first adventure to Forest School, where the learned the rules and boundaries to keep themselves safe and had so much fun exploring, climbing and den building.

The children also found a snail in the garden and decided they wanted to help it by making a cosy bed. They drew pictures (comparing his patterns to those of a fossil), wrote signs and researched what snails like to eat.

Have a lovely weekend!
