Year 4 - Changes of state
Back to Latest NewsThis week in Year 4, we started our Science learning, discussing the different states of material. We learnt that there are 3 states and that each act slightly differently. We had a lot of fun discovering and acting out how molecules move during the different state. We found that solid particles are closely packed together, with very little movement, whereas gas particles are free moving.
We were also fortunate enough this week to be visited by an Author. Katie Tsang has written Suzie saves the universe and Suzie and the moon bugs among others. She explained what her books were about and how she became and author, before reading us some of her latest book. We also learnt all about her process and even had a chance to create an alien world of our own.
We had our weekly visit from the rabbits this week and enjoyed seeing them hop around our rooms while we were learning.
It was Adder Class’ turn to take part in some orienteering this week and enjoyed using a map to find different areas of Hatter’s wood. At each area we took part in a range of different activities such as nature rubbings.
