This week we have learning about writing instructions, in the form of recipes for Literacy and decided to look at how 'Vegetable Dumplings' are made to coincide with Chinese New Year celebrations. 

After reading the recipe, we have practised some food technology skills, such as slicing, chopping and grating, in order to prepare the vegetables for our chinese dumplings. 

Today, we used our cooked chopped vegetables by putting them in dumpling pastry. Dabbing the ends with water and folding them into a pyramid shape. 

After steaming them, we all tried a dumpling and evaluated the skills we used and whether we would change anything. Some found the dumplings spicy (I blame the grated ginger) and some thought it was delicious.
