Wow! This week the children in Year 3 visited 'Riverside Cinema' to watch a fascinating film about The Nile as the start of our new topic. We enjoyed seeing incredible footage of the natural features, wildlife and special uses of The River Nile. Ask your child what their favourite part was.

This week we also got to watch some of the children perform as part of their band in the iRock Concert. Well done to those who took part, we were really proud of the confidence you showed!

As part of the RHS Big Seed Sow the children across the school planted seeds this week for different fruits and vegetables. We look forward to watching our little seeds germinate and sprout over the next few weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for their success!

In Maths we have continued practising our 8 times tables, and have been improving our column addition skills. Help your child at home by giving them random 3digit and 2 digit numbers to add or subtract. They should remember to start with the ones when doing column addition, and to carry the ten where necessary.

Otter Class went to Forest School this week and enjoyed spotting wildlife (including mallards, Canadian geese, Egyptian geese and deer), discovering a small stream that had formed after the recent storms, and swinging in the trees. We could see and smell smoke in the forest, so Mrs Vingoe investigated and found a small fire from a potential lightning strike. We called the fire brigade to alert them of the fire as responsible members of the public.

Well done to everyone who has been logging their Path to Paris activity at home, please keep it up and remember to log all of those exciting active bank holiday plans for our teams!
