“Education for global citizenship helps enable young people to develop the core competencies which allow them to actively engage with the world, and help to make it a more just and sustainable place.”

At Drapers’ Maylands Primary School, our aim is to develop children as Global Citizens, who actively engage in activities to bring about positive social change.

Through curricular and extra-curricular avenues, we provide opportunities for the children to be flexible, creative and proactive. Education for global citizenship deals with issues of global interdependence, diversity of identities and culture, sustainable development, peace & conflict and inequities of power, resources and respect.

These are addressed in the classroom through a wide and evolving variety of participatory discussions and debates. This page has been dedicated to the various activities that take place within the school.

We have been awarded an Intermediate level in the International Schools Award. This reward is a recognition from the British Council to schools who have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness and understanding within their class or school,

Please check back regularly to see how the pupils are developing as Global Citizens.
