Welcome back to all of our wonderful children! We can't believe we're already two thirds of the way through Year 3!

We loved seeing the Easter Bonnet creations in the parade on Monday, well done to everyone who had made something wonderful during the Easter break!

In preparation for Mary's Big Breakfast, the fundraiser taking place next week, the children have learnt all about the work that the charity Cancer Research UK does, as well as prepared their recipes for Banana Bread. Next week we will be baking delicious breakfast treats to serve to our guests at the Big Breakfast event.

We continued our history learning by finding out about The Vikings. The children were excited to learn about where the Vikings came from and how they got here. Ask them to tell you more at home!

In Spanish we have started a new topic - La Fruta. Ask the children to share with you the 5 new words they have learnt this week. Use the wordmat to help!

In Otter Class the children also enjoyed seeing a replica of a Viking coin that Robert had bought on his visit to the Viking Centre in York.

Otter Class also enjoyed going to Forest School this week where they climbed, swang, built, splashed and laughed. Some children found a stick with a secret language on it - some thought it might be Viking runes, whilst others thought it was a spell left by fairies or witches. Another group discovered a "spaceship" which they navigated to "base". A third group turned into a tribe of monkeys - very noise ones!
