Year 1 Paddington Letters

What an exciting week we have had in Year 1! 

In Geography the children have been looking at maps and have made their own maps of the school for Paddington Bear's visit. 

He was so impressed with their maps that he wrote a letter thanking the children. He even included photos of him with their maps and visiting our ducks! 

The children decided they wanted to write a letter back to Paddington as he asked about their classrooms. After looking at the key features of a letter, the children worked hard to write their responses. They have told Paddington all about our wonderful classroom areas.

What can they do in that area? 

In Science the children have enjoyed learning about different animal groups, including: reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, fish and arthropods. We have practised sorting different animals into these groups, based on their characteristics.
