On Monday 6th June, Year 4 visited Colchester Castle. The children were intrigued by the exhibits and enjoyed learning about the use and purpose of the many artefacts on display. The children applied their teamwork skills to build an Iron Age round house and a Roman Villa. Some children also constructed an archway using blocks of different shapes and sizes. We took many steps back (or down) in history when we entered the rooms below the castle. Here we learnt about the battles between The Romans and Celts and the history of the castle. It was lovely to witness the children’s fascination and interest. They asked many questions and gained a great deal of knowledge from their experience at the museum.
