World Book Day

I can hardly believe that we are already halfway through our second academic year at Maylands… So much has happened and is still to happen for us all. The new building has risen like a new beacon on the landscape of our local area and work is continuing so quickly that each time I visit I am delighted with progress. The walls inside are painted and all of the infrastructure is underway.
The best place to see the progress of the new building is on the concourse in front of the Academy entrance. Go and take a look!
Today is World Book Day and I am looking forward to seeing a host of story characters arrive at school this morning. There are already story characters working away in classrooms, preparing for the day…
This term we have enjoyed a pantomime at the theatre, prepared for snow, had fun with dinosaur eggs, visited Hawaii in one day, watched the transformation to Spring in Forest School and battled the high winds of Doris.
Our next few years, growing and changing in a brand-new school building with views down and over the rolling hills as far as the eye can see will be an unexpected journey…
Happy World Book Day!
