Beast from the East!

This has been a really exciting week! With the ‘Beast from the East’ on our doorstep we have had to be keeping a close eye on the weather and today we had a close call with such severe weather in the local and surrounding areas! All of our teachers and most of our support staff battled in and we could open the school. The children were able to enjoy our beautiful snowy grounds and then snuggle up with a hot chocolate and a biscuit to warm up.

We are so lucky to have such a great outdoor learning area and it will take us some time but it will in the end have a Forest School learning area, chickens and bees. For now, we are developing our vegetable gardens in the Quiet garden with the help of some local experts... The children have helped to plant our first crop and with monthly visits, I hope that we will soon be producers of vegetables and fruit for the children to eat. We will use our Technology Room ovens to make delicious recipes and hopefully even have some for our school meals.

Remember we are always looking for volunteers. If you, or anyone you know, is able to support us with our outdoor areas, please contact the school. During the Summer Term, we would really like to make some paths through the quiet garden and so will be looking for materials and man-power to help...
